How can we keep our bodies and minds healthy?
How can we keep the Earth healthy?
How are nature, art and yoga connected?
We’ll explore these questions and more this summer at the Mindfulnest
Nature & Nurture camp!
Join Ms. Shannon for a week of outdoor creativity and movement based around the themes of nature and caring for our environment. We’ll learn about artists such as Andy Goldsworthy and Robert Smithson, and we’ll explore our surrounding outdoor areas to create nature-based artwork of our own. Of course, we’ll also stretch our bodies and minds with poses, meditation and breathwork that tie into our nature theme. And as always, I will weave in plenty of books and music, and hopefully a service project too!
Camp will be held outdoors on the grounds of the Vienna Moose Lodge.
We’ll be in the shade most of the time, and we will observe all COVID precautions. We’ll use the banquet hall when needed for bathroom breaks, and in case of inclement weather. We will also take a 'field trip' to Nottoway park-directly across the street-for a yoga & nature hike, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes!
Campers should bring outdoor shoes, plenty of water, healthy snacks, and a mat. Please let me know about any allergies so I can adjust accordingly.
(If you do not have a mat, I can provide one).
